Travel Approval!

We just received an e-mail from CCAI.  We have to be in Hong Kong on or before 8/12/11.  We go before the Chinese Consulate on 8/22 and Katie should have her VISA on 8/23.  We can not leave China until 8/24.  I can't believe the time has finally arrived!  We have so much to do.  We have to book travel, pack and get everything in order for her arrival.  We are over the top excited!!! I mailed her care package today.  I included the following items:

1)  A camera & asked them to take pictures of her for me.  The letter was in Chinese so the caregiver could read it.  I also put her name on the camera itself.
2) An outfit with a matching bib.
3) A photo album with a pictures of the house & Daniel & I.  I wanted to include pictures of her nursery but it is not done yet.  I hope the painter arrives on Monday!
4)  Pink teething ring (She has 2 teeth.)
5)  A little panda bear & a little giraffe.
6)  A picture of her so the caretaker knows it is for her.
7)  Our Adoption Agreement paperwork - That was required.
8)  Candy for the caregiver.

Now, I just hope it arrives before I do.  I sent it 1st Class Mail this morning.  When I got home I received the e-mail notice from CCAI.  Their e-mail was sent at 10:36 a.m.  YEAH!!!!

Lost Fed-X Package

CCAI sent our overnight package on 6/30/11.  Our package was lost along with 5 or 6 others.  It did not arrive on 7/1/11.  My friend, April, along with many others at Fed-X worked very hard to find the packages!  Evidently the packages never left Colorado.  We finally received our package that contained pictures, medical records and the Letter of Seeking Confirmation from Adopter the following day, 7/2/11.  This was a package that was time sensitive and could not be replaced!  We signed the Letter of Confirmation the same day and hand delivered it to Fed-X.  We were in Huntsville, AL at the time.  It was a scary 24-hours!  The deadline to get the paperwork to CCAI was 7/6.  Since we missed the last pick-up on 7/2 (Saturday) & 7/3 was Sunday (closed) & 7/4 was Monday (closed for holiday) our paperwork was not sent until 7/5.  It was delivered today 7/6...which was the deadline.  We just made it!  YAY!
